County of Los Angeles Public Library, Acton Agua Dulce Library
Outdoor Connections: The Acton Agua Dulce Library was designed to integrate with a sensitive environment. The library was built on land depressed by rain water runoffs from a nearby mountain, so it was engineered as a building atop a bridge. Porous pavement in the library’s parking lot allows rain water to absorb into the soil and return to the water table.
