Public-academic community library opens

Elementary students from public, parochial, and charter schools wait for autographs from children’s author Dan Gutman at the grand opening of the new Camden County (N.J.)  Library System (CCLS) branch within Rutgers University–Camden's Paul Robeson Library. The 5,000-square-foot facility features 20-seat  state-of-the-art computer classroom, a dedicated space for children's programming, and 22 additional computers for public use. CCLS Director Linda Devlin anticipates the new branch will have a profound impact and benefit on the urban neighborhoods it serves: "The partnership with Rutgers–Camden will result in innovative programming as library's staff collaborates with staff from the Rutgers Center for Early Childhood Development and Future Scholars Program."
