Serving the hearing impaired

Middle Country Public Library in Centereach, New York continues to advance its facilities for the community with the installation of a dynamic hearing loop system in the Community Room to benefit the hearing impaired. The device, which provides hearing aid and cochlear implant users with the ability to hear and understand speech,will be available during any program in which an audiovisual component is used, including film showings, musical performances, and speaking engagements. The installation was donated by the Foundation for Sight and Sound, with assistance from Astoria Federal Savings.
