Teen talk

Rebecca Renard, teen coordinator at the District of Columbia Public Library, discusses “The Truths about Engaging Teens” during the TEDxMidAtlantic Conference October 29. “The library has gone from being a place that teens barely considered relevant to a part of many’s daily routine,” Renard told the audience. She is the recipient of the 2009 Urban Library Council’s Highsmith Award for her work with the library’s Teens of Distinction Program. The conference explored how understanding people’s relationship to a location is critical to spreading knowledge, ideas, and solutions.
