Visions of the universe
Abdalla Elrahhal, 7, peers into an astronomical telescope during the opening of the “Visions of the Universe” exhibit at Newport News (Va.) Public Library System’s Grissom branch November 29. The opening featured a talk by Ron Shaneyfelt, NASA speaker and astronomy teacher, who told the crowd he will be in Charleston, South Carolina, April 21, 2017, to get a good view of the first total solar eclipse. The exhibit celebrates Galileo first peering into the cosmos using an astronomical telescope and how astronomy has evolved over the 400 years years since then. It will be on display through February 15, 2012.
