Training and Development of Romanian Librarians
Hermina Anghelescu, associate professor of library and information science at Wayne State University in Detroit, organized the U.S. contingent at the international "The Book. Romania. Europe." symposium in Sinaia, Romania, September 20-23, 2011. The contingent also presented at additional workshops in Brasov and Bucharest. Anghelescu explains her ongoing involvement with the education and training of librarians in her native country in an interview with the American Library Association's Leonard Kniffel in Brasov.

Romania libraries and librarians
The education, funding, and addition of computers from the Gates Foundation is sorely needed in Romania. I am very glad to hear about Hermina’s visits and initiatives!
