The first true conference day saw attendees shocked by (and adoring of) Daniel Handler’s (aka Lemony Snicket’s) choice of read-aloud material. Other attendees spotted similarities to the Hunger Games (in a good way), graphic novels galore (also in a good way), and the previously unheard-of Waldo–Carmen Sandiego–Librarian convergence. Plus Council seems to have taken over Angel Stadium for the evening.
