CHICAGO — Attendees can keep track of everything while on the go at the 2012 ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim. The new mobile app for the Conference Scheduler puts all the information people need right at their fingertips, including their existing schedule, list of exhibitors and notes from the full Scheduler site. They just have to log in with the same username and password as on the Scheduler to access all of their existing conference information.

Highlights of the Scheduler include: multiple ways to browse sessions; an easy-to-create personal schedule that can be shared or kept private; tailored lists of recommendations; ease of adding, prioritizing and updating sessions and events; ease of adding booth visits and meetings with specific exhibitors; and (of course) more.

All the information attendees need to get going with the mobile app is available on the Annual Conference site.

Use the Conference Scheduler to plan your time, create, update and prioritize your calendar and find out about many other Annual Conference highlights—speakers, events, networking opportunities and more. Use the June digital preview issue of Cognotes for selected highlights—also available in Mobile, Accessible and PDF versions.

Visit the 2012 ALA Annual Conference website for general information about the conference.

Register now! Don’t miss this chance to be part of the transformation and future of libraries.

Web app

The Web app actually works beautifully (just in case the iPhone app doesn’t arrive in time). I just created a shortcut to it on my home screen. Easy peasy

iPad

Any idea when the app for Apple will be available?

re: iPAD

Unfortunately, the iOS app is out of our hands. We uploaded it last week, and we’re waiting for Apple to approve it. We’ll link to it from alaannual.org/mobile when it’s live, but until then you should be able to use the mobile version of the site at ala12.scheduler.ala.org/m.

Outlook and Mobile App

Is there a way of importing a calendar from Outlook into the app?
Thanks!

re: Importing a calendar from Outlook

Hi, Melissa —

At this point, there’s no way to import an Outlook calendar into the app. It’s something we can try to look into for the future, so thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the quick reply

Thanks for the quick reply and yes, it would be great if you can consider that in future releases!

Best,
Melissa
