Wisconsin Twister Damages Roof of Madison Branch Library

A June 23 tornado damaged the roof and ventilation system at the Sequoya branch of the Madison (Wis.) Public Library and knocked out the power for 15 hours.

Two air-conditioning and ventilation units fell through the roof near the media section of the library. Branch Supervisor Ann Michalski told CBS affiliate WISC-TV on June 29, “We had quite a bit of water coming through the building. The people here said it sounded like a waterfall.” However, no one was injured and no materials were damaged.

The branch, located in the Midvale Plaza mall, reopened June 28.
