The Live Oak Public Libraries, headquartered in historic Savannah, Georgia, is seeking a dynamic and energetic team player who is dedicated to leading staff in excellent customer service. Live Oak Public Libraries serves over 330,000 people in 3 counties in southeastern Georgia. Our 19 branches, located in Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty counties, circulate over 1.2 million items annually. The preferred candidate, under the direction of the deputy director, will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all aspects of public services including: Plan, coordinate, and evaluate staffing and service delivery; formulate policy and procedure recommendations; develop and implement budgets; train and evaluate staff; cultivate and maintain cooperative working relationships with other agencies within the library community and at the local and state level; and actively participate in envisioning the future of library services. Plans are underway for several new branches.
REQUIRES a masters in library science from an ALA-accredited college or university program, considerable professional library experience and extensive employee supervision/management experience.
