Salary Entry: $40,578
Maximum: $59,010 Annually

Master's degree in Library Science or a related program from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited school program. One year of professional experience as a librarian is required. Possession of a Pro-Literacy America Tutor Trainer Certification is desired. Experience in planning and implementing adult literacy services is preferred.

Applications are being accepted for enthusiastic, customer service-oriented librarian interested in managing an existing adult literacy program, Project L.E.A.D. (Literacy for Every Adult in Dade), and taking it to the next level. The program currently provides reading and writing instruction to adults reading below the fifth grade level using volunteer tutors. Duties include, but are not limited to, planning and implementing adult literacy services including basic training and in-service workshops for volunteer tutors, managing collection development activity for library system's literacy materials, working with community partners on literacy efforts and promoting literacy resources within the community. Applicants must have ProLiteracy Tutor Trainer Certification, or be willing to complete the ProLiteracy America Tutor Trainer Certification requirements. As part of the Outreach and Community Services Division of the Miami-Dade Public Library System additional responsibilities include assignments related to systemwide programming and outreach events.
