Over on my personal blog, Pattern Recognition, I’ve detailed a security vulnerability related to using the iPad application Goodreader on public Wi-Fi networks. This vulnerability became apparent to me when I launched Goodreader while on the ALA Annual Wi-Fi in the Washington Convention Center, and saw multiple unprotected Goodreader instances, any one of which could be read/written to at will.
If you have an iPad and use Goodreader, GO READ THAT POST RIGHT NOW. This is a serious vulnerability and any file that you have on your iPad in Goodreader may be accessible to the world.
