Penguin Books on the iPad

Here’s a demo of the sorts of ebooks that Penguin is developing for the iPad. Honestly, I find this a little uninspiring…really not very innovative. Let’s hope that other publishers can really find new ways of producing and presenting content.

not innovative?
Really? Compared to the ebook experience on current devices? Integrating revelant multimedia content into reference books is a heck of a lot more interesting than the glorified pdfs on the Kindle or Nook. And this is before the product even launches. Give the developers a couple of months to play and I’m sure even more can be done.
Well...
I suppose I’m comparing this with online media, where multimedia presentation is the norm, and not the exception (witness this very blog!). I just had hoped for a bit more vision from one of the largest publishers in the world.
