Take Five Minutes to Make a Difference for Libraries!
Submitted by Don Wood on Sun, 06/27/2010 - 07:19
If you cannot participate in Library Advocacy Day this Tuesday, you can participate in Virtual Library Advocacy Day, sponsored by the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF).
By calling and/or e-mailing your elected officials in Washington and asking them to vote for libraries, you can make a difference. Just five minutes of your time will help support and strengthen the efforts of the library supporters in Washington rallying on June 29. If you cannot call or e-mail your elected official on June 29, please do so sometime between June 28-July 2.

Grassroots Advocacy for School Libraries
There is a grassroots group Act 4 School Libraries that has produced a card to help advocate. "Take five minutes to make a difference!" is a key phrase on their card also. I encourage you to read more about this on my blog and visit their website.
